Tushar Royal Kings retained the title in the 2nd Bolangir Cricket Premier League (BCPL), outplaying Koshal Tuskers by seven wickets in the final at Gandhi Stadium here today. Allrounder Om Bikash Nayak starred in the triumph, bagging four wickets for 15 and runs and scoring a sparkling half-century. He was adjudged both the man of the match and the man of the tournament.
Champions Tushar Royal Kings received the top prize of Rs 44,444, while runners-up Koshal Tuskers settled with Rs 22,222. The tournament`s best batsman and best bowler awards were claimed by Santosh Anand Mishra (Tushar Royal Kings) and Debabrata Pradhan (Koshal Tuskers) respectively. BCPL president Samarendra Mishra handed over the prizes at the closing function.
Altogether six teams participated in the T20 tournament, which commenced on March 1. Other four teams were Titlagarh Tigers, Ramdoot Soldiers, OSRU Warriors and AZAD Warriors. Organising committee constituted president Samarendra Mishra, secretary Surya Narayan Mishra, former cricketer Bijaya Jani and coach Arun Naik.
